Adding rooms to a living space is done all the time. It allows more room and adds value to a residence. One of the most desired things home owners are building on today are sun rooms. A lot of people are adding these rooms rather than decks because of being able to use them year round. They provide a well lighted area to be comfortable in and see outside without letting the outside in. When it is too hot, you can enjoy the day while you are in the cool of air conditioning. In the winter time you can see the beauty of snowfall without getting cold.

Sun rooms are usually prefabricated. This means they are factory made and all the parts are ready to be put together when they arrive at your home. This will be the situation the majority of the time and it is normal that they come guaranteed. As with all products that are manufactured, guarantees could be different. You should read the warranty very carefully.

A vital thing that a warranty should cover is leaking. If a sun room leaks if it rains or snows, it is normally where the sun rooms top meets the existing house roof. They are commonly constructed from different materials and this could be your problem. If you have a problem with the roof of your house that is causing the leak, the guarantee might not take care of fixing it. The warranty will only fix leaking that is directly caused from the materials on the added room or if the installation of the sun room was done wrong. If it is a problem with the materials included in the room, the manufacturer should be liable. When it is leaking due to bad installation, the builder who put it together should be take care of it. Sometimes the manufacturer and the installer work together. When you get the flooring and furniture added in the room, water damage can harm all these items if the room starts leaking.

There are some smart tips to think about before having a sun room put in. Check several estimates prior to purchasing one. Find out if installation cost additional money or if you have to find your own installer. If you do engage your own installer, check with their prior clients to see if their work is professional. Make sure they are licensed and insured and that they will stand behind their work. Be cautious if an installer wants full payment up front. Do not sign any release until the installation is ended and you are confident that the work was performed correctly and checked for any leaking before signing any receipts. If a sun room is added on to a home correctly, it can allow you many years of enjoyment and is always a lovely addition to any house.
