Bad breath is a very hateful disease that makes patients uncomfortable in communication. As a result, they have the tendency of avoiding to talk with other people which can prevent them from gaining many successes in life.

Unfortunately, this disease is very common regardless of age, gender or country. This disease is not too dangerous but it causes much inconvenience so we should find ways to treat it as soon as possible. The first step is to find out the reasons causing bad breath.

Taking medication

You are treating another disease with medicine that can cause bad breath. Before deciding to take any kind of medicine, you should study carefully to see if it has any side effects or not. If it is possible, ask the doctor for an alternative. If that is the only treatment, it is very regretful to say that you have no choice but to accept this state. Bad breath is a hateful disease and you do not like it but treating the other disease is more important because it is more dangerous for your health.

Bad habits

Do you have bad habits like not brushing your teeth regularly after meals and before going to bed? Food attaches on teeth and in time will create bacteria that causes the bad smell. In order to exterminate bacteria more effectively, you should also use suitable mouthwashes. Picking your teeth with bamboo toothpicks is also a bad habit that can harm your teeth. Instead of bamboo toothpicks, you can use medical threads.

Other diseases

Some diseases can make your breath have a bad smell such as gastritis. Breath of patients having diseases relating to liver may smell like ammonia; breath of patients having diseases relating to kidney may smell like urea, etc. Therefore, in order to recover from bad breath, you have to cure its origin that is the above dangerous diseases.

Tartar

Your teeth have many tartar. Tartar is a layer forming on teeth due to pieces of food attaching on teeth for a long time. The only solution for this reason is going to the dentist to remove tartar. However, if you are having gingivitis, removing tartar may cause pain and blood.

Smoking

We know that smoking causes much harm one of which is causing bad breath. Smoking will make your mouth dry and cause some diseases relating to the gums.

Tooth decay

Tooth decay is one of the biggest reasons causing bad breathe due to the bacteria on the decayed teeth. Furthermore, pains in decayed teeth may prevent you from brushing your teeth carefully, there are still many pieces of food attached on the teeth that can cause bad breath.

Breathing with your mouth

For some certain reasons, many people have the habit of breathing through their mouth and this is also one of the reasons causing bad breath. This habit also causes other bad effects like sore throat especially during cold days because cold air can go straight to your throat and make it swollen.
