Some strains of black molds are toxic. When you do black mold removal, you need to take certain safety measures to avoid endangering your health. You are endangering your health even more if you did not undertake the removal once you've seen signs of it in your home or office. Strains of black mold are extremely hazardous, sometimes even fatal, especially to pregnant women, the elderly, and those with weak immune systems.

Even non-toxic molds can cause allergic reactions that include headache, congestion, and cough. Studies also show that sinusitis and other types of sinus infections as well as asthma attacks are caused by molds. If you have a family member who is having allergic reactions and there's no identifiable cause of it, it is time you start inspecting your home for mold growth.

Bathrooms, sinks, and basements are prime places for mold to grow as these places are often damp and molds love moist places. Black mold can grow on tiles, cements, and even countertops if they are not cleaned well and kept dry.
There are varies types or strains. If you have the budget, you can call a company specializing in this and find out if the strain of black mold in your home is toxic or not. You can also hire them to remove the molds for you.

You can do black mold elimination on your own. You can buy a black mold testing kit, and then conduct tests yourself. This is less expensive than hiring out professional help.

Black mold testing involves looking for surface growth in areas such as the walls and bathroom tiles of your home. Molds also tend to grow also in places such as cracks where you can't easily spot them. Then use of a mold testing kit allows you find out if your home's been infected. What the testing kit really measures is the air quality inside your house. Test kits are designed to detect the presence of airborne mold spores in the air. Test kits usually include a Petri dish that consists of a disk of organic matter such as animal blood or sugar. You can usually get the results after two days. Carefully read the instruction label on your test kit in order to accurately determine if your home has been infected or not.

After conducting black mold test following the product guide begin the removal of any infectious substances from your home. Keep the windows open to allow good ventilation in the area while you are working. Do not forget to wear rubber gloves and a facemask when you do it. This is to prevent you from having contact with mold spores and inhaling them. Remember that black molds can cause serious health problems.

Use a commercial mold removal product to eliminate black mold from your home. Molds concentrated in a small area can be removed using a bleach solution. For more serious cases, it is best to use a specialized mold removal product.

After the application it is very important keep the area dry to prevent re-growth of the mold.
