When there is a fire outbreak the end result of the damage is always covered in black soot, making it look like a holocaust. Every thing that we see around us is like a charred body with smoke oozing out of it from everywhere. Though the sight is not pretty, we would have to cope with it in order to get back all that we have lost in the fire damage. Smoke is always a pertinent factor that comes along with fire, and is responsible for the suffocation that a person would suffer, even though he remained unscathed by the fire.

Whenever there is a fire the entire place is surrounded with thick black smoke that deteriorates the breathing condition further. It is to be noted that during various fire damage incidents that have occurred, numerous lives have been compromised due to suffocation in the smoke. It is the smoke that misguides us our ways during such conditions, as we are almost unable to see anything in the smoke and fire. We almost take up the wrong way and end up being trapped in the fire to perish with our lives and properties.

The people, who are brought about for restoration purposes, are most often asked to deal with the smoke that remains from the fire damage. They being professionals do their work efficiently by removing the smoke odor from the house. It is to be seen if the temperature outside the house is above that of 60 degrees; if it is so the house must be aired out. Any edible material that may have come in contact with the smoke should be discarded, as they might have been contaminated with the soot.

During and after the fire damage the smoke brings down the air quality by a huge margin, making breathing a tough job. People, having emphysema, asthma or any other lung problems should get out of the smoke as soon as possible or else it would affect their health conditions further. Others, who are completely healthy, should also try to avoid coming in contact or inhaling the smoke as the soot present in it is highly injurious. The remnants and smoke combine to form effects such as coughing and irritation for the people in the vicinity, polluting the environment.

Thus, it is advisable that if any fire breaks out or, there is a condition of fire damage people should try not to inhale the smoke that is produced by the fire. They must refrain from breathing in the smoke by covering their mouth, with the help of a cloth or anything they find at hand. These smokes that arise from fire contain harmful particles in them that might cause us real trouble if taken in our system.

We may remember that safety cannot be compromised as it is said "prevention is better than cure"; when we can prevent a fire from breaking out we would not have to bother about the smoke. At the same time we must always remember to get rid of the noxious gases and smoke that remain from the fire damage.
