If you have been paying attention to the news that is going on around you lately or reading forums that have been posted on the Internet, then you may already know about the news we are about to tell you. There have been many experts out there making predictions of more weather related disasters. We all know what "weather related disasters mean." This means there will be more water damage that is caused by the weather.
You may not be aware, but the effects of global warming are starting to show more and more. There are individuals saying the changes in the weather problems just might be related to global warming. When talking about the United States of America, do you know what one of the most destructive weather related event is? Hurricanes. When it comes to major hurricanes, you can expect there to be tons of rain. When there is rain, there is floods and when there is floods there is water damage. Water damage that is caused by a hurricane or any other disaster is never fun to deal with. If you have recently been through a hurricane then you should look into the programs that are out there to help individuals who were victims of water damages caused by hurricanes.
In recent history, the year 2005 was the worst year for water damage caused in the United States of America. Many individuals were left without homes simply because of a hurricane caused major water damage to their homes where they lived. When it came to the hurricane that hit Louisiana, FEMA paid flood losses that were in excess of fifteen billion dollars. Sadly, the actual cost for the damages cost way more than fifteen billion dollars. Many homes and businesses were not estimated and covered because they did not have flood coverage. The total damage done by hurricane Katrina was estimated to be over eighty billion dollars.
Not only was there water damages done by hurricane Katrina but there were more than 1,800 individuals that lost their lives. The effects from the hurricane damages that were done by hurricane Katrina is still lingering around. The truth is that there are individuals out there that are homeless simply because of this hurricane that hit Louisiana. This is because the water damage that was done to their house was way too much for them. We believe hurricane Katrina will be talked about for many years to come because it was such a big disaster that caused water damage all over the state.
We must tell you that there will be more water damage caused by hurricanes in the future. Hurricanes are something that we have no control over as they are natural disasters. Although you cannot stop a hurricane, you will be able to prepare for then. There is a lot of information on how to prepare for hurricanes and floods. If you want full flood coverage to help you out with water damage, then you should purchase flood coverage because that is separate from homeowners insurance. |
