Free e-cards have recently become the most popular ways of celebrating Palm Sunday. The e-cards are a fast and affordable way of showing your thanks to relatives and friends on this special day.

The anniversary is special to many people, and you can help it become that bit more special by sending a few free e-cards to the friends and family on this very special day. The beauty about free e-cards is that they can be sent from any location in the world with internet, to any other location in the world with internet.

Free e-cards truly are starting to take over, and it's now uncommon not to receive an e-card at least once a year.

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of the last week of Lent, called Holy Week, during which the events of Jesus Christ's return to Jerusalem through his crucifixion and miraculous resurrection are recounted according to the chronology in which they occurred.

The conclusion of Holy Week as well as the deeds of spiritual cleansing and penitence that characterize the Lent season is the festival of Easter. Palm Sunday is called such in commemoration of the hero's welcome Christ received from the people of Jerusalem, who poured out into the streets waving palm fronds in his support.

It is thought that Jerusalem was literally overflowing with people due to the approaching celebration of Passover. Because Jesus was a known advocate against the Roman regime, he was welcomed into the city by throngs of people. However, the climax of his persecution and notoriety also began with his return to the city. Palm Sunday honors his ultimate sacrifice as a day of solemnity and obligation.

Palm Sunday is commemorated by formal church service, with little decorum. The Passion of Christ, an excerpt of the Gospel of Matthew that relates what happened after Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem, is read for the congregation.

A formal benediction of the palm is recited, reinforcing it as a symbol of triumph. It is customary to use not only palm fronds, which can be difficult to find in many parts of the world, but also green boughs, leaves, and flowers.

The flowers and branches intertwined among the ceremonial palm fronds are also blessed. These traditional arrangements are brought out of churches and into public centers in religious communities around the world by way of simultaneously festive and dignified processions, which include modest ornamentation using flowers and candles.

The plant arrangements used in Palm Sunday rituals are then burned to produce the ashes for the start of the following Lent season, Ash Wednesday.

Millions of free e-cards are now sent out each year, that's hundreds of thousands of free e-cards a month. So to make someone's Palm Sunday that bit more special this year, try sending them a free e-card.

Another cool thing about free e-cards is that they can contain nearly any message you wish, and the e-cards come in so many different e card categories. Free e-cards truly are a lifesaver, make your palm Sunday easier this year and try sending one yourself.
