This year to celebrate administrative professionals day, try sending out free e-cards to colleagues and friends alike. Free e-cards have become the fast, easy, and obviously free way of thanking people.

E cards cover many different categories, some humorous, others sad. One of the best things about ecards is they can be sent from anywhere in the world, as long as you have a computer connected to the internet.

Free e-cards are gradually taking over the whole card market, and in a few years it will start to become uncommon not to receive at least a few free e-cards for your birthday or Christmas alike. Ecards can contain any message you wish, and you'll never run out of ink when sending one of the free e-cards.

The responsibilities of an administrative professional vary widely, depending on the specific job description, which range from office manager to communications coordinator.

Because the occupation has been growing with new duties constantly being added, the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) changed the name of the annual recognition of administrative personnel from Professional Secretaries Week and Professional Secretaries Day to Administrative Professionals Week and Administrative Professionals Day respectively, beginning with the April 2000 observance.

Annually Administrative Professionals Week is observed during the last full week of April, with Administrative Professionals Day falling on that Wednesday. The international commemoration of administrative professionals, who form the support network for the office environment, from overseeing communications to facilitating interpersonal relations, both within the office and between potential clients and investors, was initially established by the IAAP in 1952.

Throughout their history, Administrative Professionals Week and Administrative Professionals Day have grown to become two of the most widely celebrated observances in the workplace.

Instead of showering the administrative professional in your office with paperwork and other things to accomplish as usual, mark Administrative Professionals Week or Day by honoring the contributions made by the administrative staff to the success of the entire operation.

The IAAP recommends that administrative professionals be given opportunities to learn on the job, so to speak, rather than expressing your thanks with gifts that are not work-related.

Employers should promote further professional development, networking, and the attainment of new skills. Subsidizing a career development course, buying equipment to make administrative duties easier to accomplish, or presenting a bonus in appreciation of your administrative professional's hard work and dedication are excellent ways to show your appreciation.

A simple bouquet of flowers and card combination is also quite a tasteful Administrative Professionals Week or Day memento from the entire workplace.

Millions of free e-cards are sent annually, and this year to make someone's administrative professionals day that bit more special, try sending a free e-card of your own. Imagine the delight on someone's face when they receive the ecard from you they never expected.

Free e-cards truly do help to forge friendships and help maintain a sense of professionalism about it. In this day and age it is becoming the norm to receive free e-cards for all holidays, birthdays, and obviously for Christmas.
