People newly renovating their homes should consider the energy saving option of installing electric underfloor heating systems as opposed to radiant heating. This will both save energy and be cost efficient cutting your bills down dramatically. Most underfloor heating are installed by professional experts, however, for those savvy enough with their box and their hands will find the process a little tricky at first to manage.
Hot water underfloor heating are just as efficient as electric underfloor heating. Both of these conserve heat energy as it does not cause a loss of heat and heat is less likely to escape when heating the room. Radiant heating tend to have heat rising up towards the ceiling keeping the upper body warmed up, as opposed to the lower part of the body. Some of the heat can be trapped amongst the ceiling and some can even escape.
The upper body, which is warmed up, includes the head, which can cause tiredness, drowsiness and even headaches. Although, radiant heating is common in most UK homes, it is in fact something that is effective in warming up the house but at the cost of the homeowners. Many are unaware of the amount of money and energy being wasted on keeping radiant heating running. The advantages are that it warms up quickly and can warm up the room very quickly.
Electric underfloor heating is an economical and space saving option for many homes. As the heating is hidden under the floor, this will not take up any space in the room and is more likely to look better when redecorating the rooms of your house. You will also have the advantage of not having to creep into your kitchen tiptoeing while barefooted, because the kitchen floor tiles are cold. This way you are able to roam around your house without worrying about having cold feet all the time.
With radiant heating your lower body is less likely to be warmed up, leaving you feeling chilly in places. With electric underfloor heating the warmth will circulate evenly around the room from the floor rising upwards. If however, you decide on purchasing a water pumped underfloor heating system, then you are more likely to wait longer for the room to warm up, as this will mean waiting for the hot water to run through the room. One advantage is that during the summer period this will double up as cooling system keeping the floors nice and cool when it gets too warm.
The underfloor heating systems do not need as much maintenance as a normal radiant heating system would need. They do not need bleeding every so often to release air from the system and electric systems will not need draining either. They also work on precise temperature controls, which will save you money on heating costs. Installing them is cheaper than installing normal radiator heaters, is this is quick and simple procedure.
