Cook Island is a funny name, and not a place familiar with everyone. However, this Island promises a vacation not to be forgotten. Visiting Cook Island is an authentic and refined Pacific experience encased in lifestyles that exude warmth, happiness and respect. The Cook Island is a haven for romantics, both young and old.

Let us start with the capital city of Rarotonga. Here, they offer a rare opportunity for people from cities all over the world to experience a different type of vacation. Although there are no high-rising hotels, there are some nice beach buggies and it has very little hype. It is an ideal location for travellers seeking tranquillity and serenity. The raro safari will be a sure hit for both the young and the old travellers. Another fun activity for tourists in this area is snorkelling.

A visit to the Cook Islands is not complete without seeing the beautiful island of Aitutaki, which is less than an hours flight from Rarotonga, and lies 220 kilometres north of Rarotonga. The area is just 20 square kilometres and is partly volcanic in origin. The allure of the crystal clear turquoise waters and sparkling white beaches is the essential reason why everyone should take a trip to the breathtaking Aitutaki. The spectacular lagoon you view from the peak has plenty of abundant coloured fish of many varieties. The Lagoon cruise on beautiful Aitutaki Lagoon is a must for any visitor.

In Mangaia, tourists can trek for miles along the coast. It is the southernmost and the second largest of the Cook Islands. It is an island of incredible and serene beauty according to many tourists who have been there. The famous Makatea is abundant here. The Makatea is a jagged limestone coral. There is the so called Makatea forest, where numerous trees, shrubs and plants grow between the coral limestones. There are also a number of caves to be explored.

The Teruarere Cave is a seemingly endless series of interconnected chambers with huge stalactites and impressive stalagmites rising from its wet floors. Here amongst the labyrinths is the last resting place for previous generations whose remains can still be seen by torchlight. A few tiny, sandy coves can be found tucked in the coastal makatea providing secluded places for swimming and sunbathing.

The known Puka Puka Island is another place of interest for tourists. It is also known as the Island Desire. This island is an isolated insular and renowned for its unusual social customs. The island is a remote location that has kept the traditions and culture of Puka Puka. This is a beautiful atoll with untouched white sandy beaches and has excellent swimming and snorkelling with a reputation for its finely woven mats. Cook Islands is famous for the TV series Survivor, it was filmed here several years ago. It is a remarkable jewel of an island, left untouched by the world.
