Health is an issue that needs careful attention from all of us. In addition, the health of the old is one of the topics attracting most attention because when time goes by it will become worse and worse. The coming of old age is usually accompanied with many diseases. The following are common diseases in the old.
1. Sleeplessness
The old usually find it hard to get to sleep. They often wake up very early in the morning. These are signs of sleeplessness and is a very common disease in the old. Sleeplessness is very harmful for adults. It prevents them from recovering energy after a long day. People who have to suffer from sleeplessness will easily get angry and find it hard to concentrate.
In order to get over and avoid this disease, the old should not stay at home all day long but take part in some other activities like doing exercise in the morning, joining in some clubs for the old like clubs of poem. These activities will bring them in good states of mind and they will find it easier to get to sleep.
2. Problems with the digestion system
With the coming of old age, the operation of the digestion system of old people will become worse. It is said that we should concentrate on chewing during meals. Avoid chewing and reading newspapers or watching television at the same time. Distraction during meals may make the old choke on foods. This accident is very dangerous because it can lead to death if there are no timely treatments.
3. Backache
There are many reasons leading to backache heredity, injuries due to lifting heavy objects, etc. One of the most common cause of backache in the old is the coming of the old age. There are some people who think that if you have a backache, you should not exercise. This is a very wrong opinion. Doing exercise suitably can help old people improve their situation. However, in order to know what exercise is suitable, the old should get useful advice from doctors. Old people should avoid strong activities to prevent serious injuries to their back.
4. Cardiovascular diseases
Fat people or people with high blood pressure are ones who will easily get these diseases. In order to reduce the bad effects of these cardiovascular diseases, old people must have a reasonable diet. Using harmful stimulants like cigarettes, alcohol in the youth is also a reason leading to an increase in the risks of getting cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, you should limit those bad substances as much as possible to have a good and long-lasting health.
5. Bad memory
Old people usually complain that they find it hard to remember and learn new things. The old easily forget things because of their bad memory. Methods to protect the memory among the old are taking in a suitable amount of coffee, playing games, learning a foreign language, etc.
Being a useless person is a fear of most old people. In order to avoid this hateful situation, the old should try to maintain good health and a good state of mind. |
